FIRE PUMP TEST PIT
Sealed proposals for the Fire Pump Test Pit Project, Lewisburg, West Virginia, will be received by the City of Lewisburg Fire Department at Lewisburg City Hall 942 Washington St., West, Lewisburg, West Virginia, until 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 9th, 2016. Bids will then be publicly opened and read aloud. Any bids received later that the above time and date will not be accepted. No conditional bids will be received.
The Work for which Bids will be received is generally described as follows:
Construction of approximately 12 feet wide, 32 feet long, 15 feet deep cast-in-place concrete tank and all other necessary appurtenances necessary to complete this project as called out in the plans and specifications.
Construction time limit for this Contract is ninety (90) calendar days.
Bidders shall commence work under this contract on or before a date to be specified in a written Notice to Proceed by the owner and to fully complete the project within the time limit as stipulated in the Contract Documents. Bidder agrees to pay as liquidated damages the sum of $500.00 for each consecutive day therafter as provided in the information for Bidders and General Conditions.

Each Bid must be submitted in a sealed envelope containing the Bid Bond, Certificate of Compliance, Power-of Attorney, and all other necessary documents, and a separate sealed envelope inside containing the Bid.
The two envelope Bidding system will be used for this Project. Both envelopes must have the following information in the lower left-hand corner:
Name and address of Bidder, Bid on City of Lewisburg Fire Department Fire Test Pit Project, to be opened on Thursday June 9th, 2016, at 2:00 PM.
The main envelope will be opened first and the Bid Bond, Certificate of Compliance, Power-of Attorney and all other pertinent documents will be checked to determine that all documents are in order. If the documents are found to be in order, the envelope containing the Bid will be opened and publicly read aloud. If the documents are not in order, the envelope containing the Bid will not be opened and the Bid will be considered non-responsive and will not be accepted.
Proposals must be made upon forms furnished by the City of Lewisburg Fire Department in the manner designated in the Contract Documents, and must be enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the name and address of the Bidder and notation “BID ENCLOSED” on the outside, and must be accompanied by a cashier’s check or certified check or bid bond in favor of City of Lewisburg Fire Department, for an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the proposal and must be delivered at the place designated above on or before the day and hour named.
The City of Lewisburg Fire Department reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and to waive any informalities.
A pre-bid conference will be held at Fire Station No. 2, 3673 Jefferson Street North, Lewisburg, West Virginia on Monday 23rd, 2016. The meeting will convene at 10:00 AM. The mandatory pre-bid conference will commence with a question and answer session and a review of the information for Bidders. Following the question and answer session the meeting will briefly adjourn and reconvene at the Project Site.
