State Property For Sale
I. Introduction
The State of West Virginia, in its endeavors to manage its real estate resources,
has decided to sell, by competitive written bidding process, the former State
Police property located at 1300 Harrison Avenue,
Elkins, Randolph County, WV 26241
II. Location and Description of Real Estate
Site Size: (265/8′ x 146.8′) 39,019 SF (0.8882 Acre),
Building Size: 4,623 SF Above Grade – 2,863 SF Below Grade – 5,555 SF Garage/Shop/Storage. Tax Map 5, Parcel 54 of the Elkins Corporation of Randolph County, West Virginia. The property is to be considered "as is and where is."
III. Bid Submission and cut-off date
Written bids will be received by the West Virginia Real Estate Division until Wednesday, August 3,2016 at 2:00 PM. Mailed bids or hand-carried bids are the only two acceptable means of bid placement. Note: please write "ELKINS WVSP Bid" on the lower left of the envelope.
IV. Bid Opening and Review
The West Virginia Real Estate Division will hold a public opening of all bids on Wednesday, August 3,2016 at 2:30 PM at its office at 900 Pennsylvania Avenue, Suite 500, Charleston, West Virginia, 25302. Thereafter, all bid proposals will be reviewed. The West Virginia Real Estate Division reserves the right to reject any or all bids or negotiate with any bidders.
V. Bid Notification
The successful bidder will be notified of their bid acceptance as soon as reasonably possible.
VI. Bid Award & Conveyance Details
The West Virginia Real Estate Division and the West Virginia State Police will determine if the highest bid is acceptable. If so, the successful bidder will be requested to submit a non-refundable down payment of 5% of the bid amount by cashier’s check made payable to the West Virginia State Police. (It will be refunded if the State fails to make the conveyance.)
VII. Appraised Value
The current appraised value is Six Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars
($650,000.00).
VIII. Delayed Closing
The WVSP will be relocating to a new building that is currently under construction with an anticipated completion date of January 2017. The closing will be delayed until after the WVSP has relocated their equipment and critical services
